How many years have you participated in the Vancouver Home + Design Show / BC Home + Garden Show (since what year)?  Since 2005

Describe your involvement:  HFHGV has designed, built and manned a booth at both Vancouver home shows since 2005.  Our booths feature volunteers who help spread the word about the work being done in Greater Vancouver by Habitat for Humanity and how our ReStores support the cause.

How did you originally get involved with home shows?  Marketplace Events invited us to participate in the shows and generously donated the cost of the booth.

Describe the Vancouver Home + Design Show in five words or less:  Great stuff – socially conscious!

What does the term 'home show' mean to you?  Great ideas, great products and a fantastic opportunity for HFHGV ReStores to ‘brag’ about the deals and hundreds of tonnes of product we divert from our local landfills every year.

What's the best item you've ever purchased at a home show?  The Smart Living Steam Mop – every household should have one!!

What is your favourite part of a home show?  The connections and relationships built with the other vendors and visitors to the shows.

Tell us about your best home show memory:  The donor who, after visiting our booth, donated a kitchen worth $25,000.

What's the craziest thing you've ever seen/experienced at a home show?  The adrenaline that comes from assembling and dismantling the booths!

What are you most looking forward to at this fall's Vancouver Home + Design Show?  To showcase our brand new ReStore opening soon in North Vancouver.

Thanks to Tom Riessner and Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver - ReStores for a great interview.

Have a great weekend, and I'll see you on Monday!
